Common Questions from Sweetique Customers
Where are these delicious chocolate eggs made?
Sweetique Eggs are unique worldwide and the exclusive product of the sixth generation of the Tusky family on their Gut Springenheide estate in Northwestern Germany.
How are the eggs made?
They are produced in the most sophisticated and proprietary high-tech facilities developed and operated by the Tusky family in Germany. After removal of the egg yolk and albumen [egg white], the shell is sterilized twice in a process that exceeds American FDA and USDA standards as well as those of other nations. Despite the state-of-the-art production process, strictest quality controls are still executed manually by expert staff.
What happens to the egg yolks and whites?
After separation from the egg shell, the yolks and whites are processed into frozen food products, such as omelets and desserts, for the leading airlines, hotels, travel and catering institutions in the world. Gut Springenheide is a leading producer of exclusive egg products of the highest quality.
How should I store and take care of my chocolate eggs?
Fine chocolate should be kept in a cool and dry place with a temperature of approximately 60 degrees Fahrenheit and not more than 60% humidity.
My chocolate eggs have developed a whitish cast– are they still good to eat?
At higher temperatures, some of the cocoa butter may appear on the surface, resulting in a whitish cover known as “bloom”. To prevent bloom, it is important not to expose the eggs to fluctuations of temperature. Make any temperature changes gradually. The chocolate itself remains unchanged in quality and taste and is fine to eat and enjoy!
Do the chocolate eggs require any preparation?
Refrigerate the eggs for 15 minutes to ease peeling the shell from the chocolate; then crack open and enjoy the freshness and luscious taste of our products.
What is the shelf life or “best use” period of the chocolate eggs?
Approximately 6 months, subject to proper storage and handling. All packages are clearly marked with their “Best Use Before” dates.
What are the ingredients of the chocolate eggs?
Sugar, hazelnuts, cocoa butter, cocoa liquor, milk powder, emulsifier soy lecithin, and vanillin.
Do the chocolate eggs contain nut products?
Yes, they contain hazelnuts and may contain traces of other tree nuts and / or eggs.
What are the nutrition facts for your products?
Please visit the Nutrition & Ingredients page.
Will the chocolates I receive look just like the pictures on the website?
Due to the hand-made and artistic nature of our products, there are natural variations in the appearance. This is evidence of the special character of the product, and is not a production flaw.
Are custom egg designs and packages available?
Our high-tech production, printing, and packaging facilities allow for a wide range of custom products, designs, and applications. Contact us to discuss your special needs.
What are the “foam-padded” mailing boxes?
Due to the fragile nature of the chocolate eggs, we have developed a proprietary mail box for our customers’ safety and convenience. This mail box is lined with thick foam padding on the inside to protect the eggs during shipping and handling. This mail box can be recycled for your fragile mailing needs in future.
What is your return / refund policy?
Since our products are food items and subject to a variety of government safety regulations, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges of products. We appreciate your understanding of this policy, which is intended to protect our valued customers.
